Becoming a surrogate was truly a dream for me. Everything went as beautifully and smoothly as it possibly could. From day one, I felt supported, informed, and respected. Even the paperwork process — which can feel overwhelming in big life moments — was seamless (major perks of having two Type A personalities at the helm!). Clear communication, organized timelines, and mutual trust made all the difference. The shots weren’t super fun, but every shot lead my intended parents closer to their dream of a baby.
One of the biggest reasons my journey was so positive was working with Egg Donor and Surrogate Solutions. I cannot recommend them enough — whether you’re hoping to become a surrogate or you’re an intended parent looking for one. What makes them so special is that the women on their staff have been surrogates themselves — some multiple times. They truly understand what we’re going through physically, emotionally, and mentally. The compassion, advocacy, and real-life insight they provide is unmatched. I always felt seen, protected, and cared for. They are a member of the ethics society SEEDS which is a committee who make sure ethical standards and being practiced and maintaining the most up to date education for each surrogacy organization.
Surrogacy is such a unique fufulling journey — filled with milestones worth celebrating. I never went into surrogacy expecting gifts — truly, the experience itself was more than enough. Anything someone chooses to give, no matter how big or small, is incredibly thoughtful and appreciated. I’m sharing these ideas simply because gift giving is one of my love languages, and I know I would have loved a little inspiration for meaningful ways to bless my intended parents throughout our journey together.
Milestone Gift Ideas for Your Surrogate
✨ Match Day
This is the beginning of something beautiful — when both sides say “yes.”
Gift Ideas:
- A handwritten letter expressing excitement and gratitude
- A curated self-care box (luxury candle, cozy blanket, bath salts)
- A custom journal for her to document the journey
- A small piece of meaningful jewelry (simple and sentimental)
- Books for the surrogates kids (this was one of my favorite gift I recieved, “My Mom is a Surrogate,” “The Very Kind Koala,” and “The Kangaroo Pouch” were all amazing books I read to my young kids and it helped them learn about the process through words understandable to them)

📑 Contract Signing / Medical Clearance
This stage can feel very clinical and paperwork-heavy. A little encouragement goes a long way.
Gift Ideas:
- Spa gift card or Makeup Gift Card
- Meal delivery credit: Doordash/Uber Eats
- A “You’re Amazing” care package (my IPs got me a basket with lots of different cooking items because they know I love to cook and eat foods from all over the world)
- A bouquet with a heartfelt note
- A medical bag for shots/medication organization
- Cold Packs for Shot Comfort
💉 Transfer Day

Emotionally, this is a big one. It’s hopeful and vulnerable all at once.
Gift Ideas:
- A comfort basket for the two-week wait (think eye mask, foot scrub, a robe)
- Cozy socks and a heating pad
- A favorite snack stash ( I love granola bites)
- A bracelet or keepsake symbolizing hope (my IPs got me the cutest dragonfly bracelet- prior to our transfer I kept seeing dragonflies everywhere in mass amounts. Then throughout our pregnancy I continued to see them and thought of them as a sign of goodluck and I am where I am supposed to be)
🤍 First Positive Pregnancy Test

Pure joy. Shared tears. Relief. While I have clearblue in the picture above, I highly recommend having your surrogate take pink dye test, First Response Early Detection (or even the cheap pink dye tests at the dollar store). Their threshold for HCG levels are much lower and will show a positive pregnancy much faster than a digital or other test.
Gift Ideas:
- A gratitude letter acknowledging her role in this miracle
- Professional prenatal massage gift card
- A charm to add to a bracelet marking the milestone
- Flowers delivered with a personal message
🩺 Anatomy Scan / Midway Point

This is when things start to feel very real. Watching my intended parents see the baby squirming around in my belly was the second most rewarding part of my journey, only to be topped by the delivery.
Gift Ideas:
- A surprise lunch or dinner delivered
- A pregnancy-safe spa day
- A framed quote about strength and generosity
- A care package for her family (because they’re supporting her too, think snacks, small toys anything to say thank you for letting me borrow your mommies tummy)
🎂 Third Trimester

She’s carrying not just a baby — but your dream.
Gift Ideas:
- House cleaning service (THIS IS THE BEST THING EVERRRRRRRR: having my house professionally cleaned when I’m the size of a house and have low energy and 4 kids destroying the house, a house clean was a godsend)
- Grocery delivery credit
- Prenatal massage
- A personalized thank-you book from your family
🏥 Delivery Day
The biggest milestone of all.
Gift Ideas:
- A heartfelt letter (this one will mean more than anything)
- A push present — thoughtful jewelry or keepsake
- A bottle of wine and a cute glass
- A coffee cup and the best coffee on the planet (Lucky Goat Coffee)
- A professional photo printed and framed
- A meaningful donation to a charity she loves (if she insists on no gifts)
🌸 Postpartum Period
This stage is often overlooked — and it matters deeply.

- A “We Will Never Forget What You Did for Us” letter
The Most Meaningful Gift?

While tangible gifts are beautiful, I can tell you from experience: the most meaningful things are respect, communication, and genuine gratitude. Being included. Being acknowledged. Being treated like family.
Surrogacy is not transactional — it’s relational. It’s sacred. It’s layered. It’s life-changing for everyone involved.
If you are considering becoming a surrogate or beginning your journey as intended parents, I wholeheartedly recommend starting with Egg Donor and Surrogate Solutions. Working with women who have walked this path themselves makes all the difference. That lived experience brings a level of compassion and advocacy that you simply cannot replicate.
Surrogacy was one of the greatest honors of my life. And every milestone along the way deserves to be celebrated.
